💡 Liu is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Computational Urban Science. With eight years of experience in urban data research, he has served in several positions, including a data scientist at the China Academy of Urban Planning and Design, an external expert at Tencent, an STC at the World Bank, and the founder of CitoryTech Co LTD. He led vital projects, such as LSB/cellphone data analysis, including national population flow research based on 1 billion Tencent LBSN data and street-level visual AI in cities including Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Wuhan, Chongqing, and Suzhou. Additionally, he led his team that innovated a platform for commercial real estate based on social media data. Prior to this, Liu underwent six years of training and two years of work experience in design, working on various urban design and planning projects.
His current research focuses on evaluating the physical environment and its impacts on public activities. Specifically, he is keen on probing into pedestrians' emotional responses, memories, and experiences of the built environment with urban imagery data analysis.****
